Ahoo (Ghazelle) Pendant

Paying homage to the gazelle; is an evocative Persian motif symbolising beauty, elegance and love. This long and striking pendant is designed to make the wearer feel something of that mythical beauty, a piece of art inspired by classical Iranian mythology.
First, the eye falls on the blossoming petals of the Abbasi flower, symbolising love and femininity. A chain of sapphire-set buds creates gentle movement, leading to the sweeping curves of a graceful gazelle. Around her neck, a diamond-set collar adds a little humour, jewellery-within-jewellery, while elongated legs taper to an elegant point.
Visually the piece plays on the contrast of texture and colour, a balance of polished metal, glittering claw set diamonds and deep blue sapphires.
The Gazelle pendant is a harmonious meeting of new technology and traditional techniques. First, the gentle curves of the gazelle and the flowers were created using 3D modelling software Modo. The same software was used to position and make an initial hole for the stones. Next, the piece was 3D printed and then direct cast in silver. The gemstones were set with the aid of micro-setting tools, and then hand-polished to a high and satin finish.
